Will you try it?

As far as a distraction goes, his plan is to fire off an Avis or two aiming deeper into the woods, hoping the initial loud noise and rustling of birds will call them away from their post long enough for him to get in as a cat.

Then a bright white moose steps up from out of nowhere, as though it just materialized out of the shadows. It seems to stare at Lucas for a second, before suddenly dashing out of the treeline in full view of everyone, and pivoting to run back into the forest. One of the agents yells, "Call for backup!" as they give chase. The second agent stays by the entrance, but is busy sending off a greyhound Patronus to deliver a message. It's easy for a cat to slip into the camp while this is going on.
The MACUSA encampment is much bigger than it appears from the outside. Dark-colored tents line the perimeter, mostly personal residences for the various agents. Towards the back of the camp is what looks like a small prefab warehouse, windowless and made of steel. It's also guarded, and there isn't any easy way to sneak in.
The longer Lucas spends in the camp, the more he picks up on a buzzing sense of discomfort in the air. Somehow he knows instinctively, after three years living at Gooseberry, fine-tuned by his animal senses, that this is the forest. It doesn't want MACUSA here. It resents that the agents won't leave. None of the agents seem obviously bothered, though. (Do they not feel it, or are they used to it?) Except... there's two Aurors talking in a corner. One of them waves her hands as she speaks, looking agitated.
"He's been acting weird," Agent Monet is saying as Lucas approaches.
Agent Larke frowns. "Like weird-weird or just Yaeger-weird?"
"Weird even for Yaeger! Ever since we got attacked, he's been different. I can't explain it." She's quiet for a second. "He's been questioning Grimshaw a lot. Not to the boss' face, of course, but..."
"Can you blame him? I don't even know—" Larke breaks off. "Hey! Kitty!" The two agents stop their conversation to corner Lucas.
"How did it get in here?" Monet wonders.
"Must belong to a student. C'mere, I won't hurt you." Larke scoops up the cat in her arms, and carries him out of the camp. The last thing Lucas hears before he runs off is Larke chastising the guards for not doing their jobs.
